I never posted about attending DK’s Purposeinc Think Tank 2009 this past September, but wanted to take a few minutes to do so; better late than never. DK (aka Dave Klein) is such a cool, down-to-earth kind of guy that you just can’t help but to take an instant liking to him. You rock Bro!

There were many conference highlights for me, including getting to “roll” with 6-time World Jiu-Jitsu champ, Robert Drysdale (see me in action).

Surfrider Foundation I know that the title of this post probably has you asking yourself WTH? Wait, please let me explain! It will all make perfect sense after you’ve read through it.

First and foremost, I will be am currently planning to be in Las Vegas during the Pubcon conference this month. However, I will not be attending the Pubcon conference itself. Just for your edifice, Pubcon has always been one of the more beneficial Internet conferences out there—for several years.

Purposeinc Poker Tournament

This year during Pubcon, I will be hanging with some of the Internet’s biggest PLAYERS. Where and when you ask? None other than DK’s Purposeinc Poker Tournament at the Mirage Casino on November 12, 2009. Even the people attending Pubcon will be trying to get into this event because it is notorious for just kicking ass.

Updated @ 2:50 pm (PST) on 11/04/2009: Just purchased my buy-in.

Second, part of my being able to attend and actually play in the Purposeinc Poker Tournamnet in Las Vegas, Nevada includes blogging about a specific charity to which I give money. As such, I want to let all of you know about the charity that is dear to my heart called the Surfrider Foundation (local San Diego chapter).

The Surfrider Foundation is a non-profit grassroots organization dedicated to the protection and enjoyment of our world’s oceans, waves and beaches. Founded in 1984 by a handful of visionary surfers in Malibu, California, the Surfrider Foundation now maintains over 50,000 members and 90 chapters worldwide.

In my humble opinion, Surfrider is an AMZAING charity and everybody who enjoys playing in or just looking at a clean ocean should DEFINITELY check into this foundation.
