A couple of hours ago I was checking one of my Google AdWords accounts and reviewing ad presentation live on Google. To my surprise I noticed all of the Display URLs for all of the advertisers were displaying the sub-domain www.

Google AdWords .www in Display URL - 04/29/2011

It was only a few weeks ago Google began forcing the lower case version of an advertisers’ Display URL — domainname.com. I hope the results of their usability tests are driving these changes rather than some HIPPO; I’d bet on the first.

Nonetheless, this is a significant change and I’d like to know if it effecting your click through and conversion positively or negatively. Thank you in advance for sharing your experience.

Just noticed it! That’s a big deal. It was a good way to get your ad to stand out. Why doesn’t anyone mention this to us?
