Getting Things Done – My Theme for 2011

Success in 2011

Can you believe how fast the month of January flew by? It’s officially February 1, 2011 and I am already busy as heck. I have a daytime hobby (a career I love), a family + dog, personal projects involving making money online, fitness and just daily stuff one cannot plan for. I’m busier than ever, which is not a complaint by the way; it just is. And, I am very thankful for everything going on in my life right now.

With this in mind, I know that in order to have a successful 2011 I will have to really dedicate myself to just Getting Things Done

In this vain, I have been seeking out organizational and productivity enhancing tools. One such tool I found is named NirvanaHQ. This organizational tool is built upon the Getting Things Done process. Although I have yet to import my ambitious To Do list (for work), I have set a goal to get it into Nirvana by the end of the month, if not sooner.

Again, I believe organization is going to be key for me this year, more than ever, due to the many things currently consuming my time each day. I will not be able to get things done without identifying the projects consuming my time and getting them onto a list I can see all day long. Here’s just a short list of my projects:

  • Phone Cards (4 days per week full-time)
  • Helping my wife promote her Mobile Spray Tanning company Spray Tan Chic, which is still very much under construction, but she’s getting a good amount of clients from just her one-page site.
  • Personal Project(s) (cannot yet reveal)
  • Raising two kids and a dog
  • Honey Do’s
  • Working Out (weight training and Jiu-Jitsu)
  • Maintaining some affiliate stuff I’ve had going for years

Some fun things I’ve done in my “spare time” include doing an interview for Jonathan Volk and a Podcast on SEO with Ian Fernando.

TIP: For anybody reading this… if you want to learn how to make money online you DEFINITELY need to start reading these two guys’ blogs. They are monsters in affiliate marketing.

Let’s see, what else have I done so far in 2011. Oh yeah, for you affiliate marketers using WordPress, I just recently added a free version of my PPC Keyword Tracker plug-in for WordPress.

If you are into making money online, buy paid search engine traffic (i.e. Google AdWords, Bing, etc.) and promote offers on a WordPress powered blog or website, you need to get my plug-in.

My plug-in, upon install, gives your blog the ability to automatically track affiliate SUBID and campaigns down to the keyword level so you know which keywords lead to sales and which do not. One of my favorite plug-in features is the Anonymizer. Instead of passing the real keywords or campaign IDs to the merchant, it automatically creates an anonymized tracking ID for each and appends it to your affiliate URL as the SUBID. Your merchants won’t have any way to know what is generating your sales. (:

That’s a quick update on me. What do you have going on? What will be the key(s) to your success in 2011? Let me know what’s up by dropping a comment.
