Dad Had Quintuple Bypass Surgery Today

Coronary Artery Bypass SurgeryYesterday my Dad saw his doctor for his annual stress test, and to check on a stint already placed into one of his arteries last year. Unfortunately, the doctor did not like what he saw; there was significant plaque build-up in at least two arteries. As such, he decided to admit my Dad into the hospital for surgery today.

So, my Dad went under the knife at about 9:30am PT today. I just got a phone call from my Step Mom regarding the outcome and everything went OK. Unexpectedly, however, they ended up doing a quintuple bypass instead of just a double–WOW!

At any rate, my Dad is totally out right now and will be for the remainder of the day. He should be awake early AM tomorrow, and we’ll all just take it from there.

Matthew, thanks for stopping by and commenting. With all of the skill and technology the medical teams have today, you can rest assured knowing your uncle will be in good hands. I wish him (physically) and you and your family (mentally) a speedy recovery. It can be a pretty emotionally charged event.
